View Full Version : MP3go or Ultra MP3??
Hi guys
I own an original N-gage with a 512 MB MMC card. the problem is that i've loaded about 200 MP3's on my card and whenever i try to play them using the deafult MP3 player provided in the phone, it take a hell of a time just to open the application..
Plus it does not support seeking forward or backward...
So i was wondering whether i should go for ultra MP3 or MP3 go?? which one is better? do both of them support sterio output?? :-?

Since when was this a problem?

Ultra Mp3 is better, but sound is mono..(also with mp3 go..)
I feel the lack of the backward/forward function too.
Try putting less mp3.. :-(

I will still stick to the origianl app if I were you. If you use 3rd party software, the output will be mono and you can't select those MP3 files as your ringtone :)

yea, stick to orig one. mainly because other apps are mono, not stereo on ngage.

Straight 2 the point, UltraMP3 2 me is the better. Followed by MP3Player.
I know the original app is the best.. but it does not support seeking forward or backward..
so my question was is there any app.. any app at all which supports sterio sound + seeking?? :???:
Cheers

Sure, but that's only for version7 onwards
p.s. OggPlay 1.00 does run on version6 but support only .ogg
Well lets see.. N-gage is a series 60 phone (i suppose), so according to you Ogg play shoud only play Ogg files.. humm..
Well i dont mind converting my files to ogg vorbis format.. but if and only if it supports seeking back/forward and has stereo sound.. so does it do all of the above??? :???:

Sorry mate, you're out of luck. The N-Gage does not support MMF (Symbian multimedia framework enabling the use of audio plugins), so you're restricted to 16Khz mono output with OggPlay.
You're better off just using the standard player.
And I know how frustrating it is not having a decent seek function. The only mp3s I play are rips of mixtapes which are at least 30 minutes long each, and you're buggered if you want to fast forward to the middle of the file.
I've found that OggPlayer fast forwards quicker than the standard player and can continue fast forwarding with the FF hotkey held down as opposed to having to keep continuously pressing it as with the standard player, so I am using it now. Although I'd kill for the same seeking functionality as Mp3Player.

In my opinion: Ultramp3_1.33 is better than any other MP3 player actually available for S60 phones..

...unless you've got one that outputs in 44.1KHz stereo.

Well so soed this version of Ultra mp3 support stereo sound.. ?? :???:

Again, NONE of the 3rd party S60 mp3 player apps support stereo output, EXCEPT the MMF versions of OggPlay (which also plays mp3s).
And N-Gage users are out of luck; even OggPlay can't output in stereo on it. Best stick to the default player.

ogg player is my best cause you need no playlist, only play a whole folder :)
only works with mp3 files not with ogg ;p
