Hello everyone!
Does anyone know if ther is any viruses for 6630,because i had a LOT of problems with my phone.I have put on a lot of stuff (mostly PSILOC,and ngage games) but than my phone started to crash down.Voice calling was disabeld,i couldnt go to wap/xhtml with original browser, videorecorder was unable to use and severlal other things. But all was normal if i removed the mmc.
Now i have formated phone and mmc and they work normal.Anyone has a clue what could that be :???:??
thanks!!

how do you format your 6630? i don't think the *,3,green key works on it.

how do you format your 6630? i don't think the *,3,green key works on it.
I found the *,3,green combo didnt work either. there are two codes:
*#7370# - Format Phone
*#7780# - Factory Reset
the top one worked fine for me, however i am not sure weather it is just a glorified factory reset or if it actually formats the phone
Also i heard that if you hold down the pencil button during start up, that will boot it in safe mode, then you can pefrorm your format using the code above ( only really need to use that if your phone wont boot cause of loading dodgy apps as it boots). (safe mode boots without loading anything,,, apparently..
Hope this helps
regards.

:D Hoorah ,,, a fix for that stupid 6630 rebooting problem !!
Still yet to find out why I actually got this problem, but as I can
remember I was using Agile Messenger when my phone closed the program & back to the main menu (I had no other apps open), tried Agile Messenger again, closed after a few seconds.
Then shortly after tried to send a SMS text, immediately booted back to main
screen, odd, tried SMS again, it booted me back to main screen.
Thinking something was wrong I backed up my entire phone C:\ drive.
Rebooted & had lots of problems, phone rebooted and rebooted, finally got it
back up & running in 'Offline' mode (without a SIM in the phone), but
couldn't access my contacts or type in anything (a single press of the keys
rebooted the phone).
Searching on the net I discovered my symptoms to be similar to the GAVNO
virus:
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?ContentId=3968
and a cure using an anti-virus program:
http://mobiletech.softwarecellulari.it/shop/eng_DettaglioArticolo.asp?ID_ART
=4189
not wanting to part with cash for an AV program just yet & some spare time
on my hands I messed around with the files on the phone to attempt to fix
the problem.
Perhaps I don't actually have this GAVNO virus on my phone, or maybe I do,
but basically the fix for me was to delete ONE file on the phone:
c:\system\data\PTIT9UDB0F.DAT
immediately after this file was deleted everything worked again.
Tried rebooting to see if it came back, hoorah NO, still working, now after
4 reboots all seems well. Bluetooth working fine, contacts, text, booting
up is back to normal, everything so far works perfect again. :D
Even Agile Messenger works perfect again now.
Not sure if this will be the cure for all 6630's, perhaps the GAVNO virus
copies itself to different locations/filenames to confuse.
To discover the problem I ran a full backup using SpriteBackup
(which obviously would also backup & include the rogue .DAT file), then I
tediously removed file-by-file until the contacts list came back up. Once
discovered I restored from backup & messed around again with things until I
pinpointed the exact file(s) causing the problem, luckily it just appeared
to be one rogue .DAT file.
I've seen many posts on this problem, unsure if it will work for anyone else
(remember to make a full backup before doing anything),
Hope this advice helps,
DB

An other fix for apps that throws you out is to delete the the Libs folder on the MMC (added by nGage games install) That one fixed my 6630....
This will make your nGage games unfunctional so it really is a question of wether you want a functional phone or the games for a platform that your phone actually doesn't support...

Have been informed on another forum that the file: C:\system\data\PTIT9UDB0F.DAT only contains extra T9 dictionary inputs that you create yourself.
Deleting this file fixed my problem so I guess I must have had a corrupt file, after adding more words during SMS input the file has returned, but so far I have had no nasty rebooting problems.
The only downside of deleting this file I can imagine would be that you'll lose your extra T9 inputs & have to input them again ,,, rather do that than completely re-format your phone eh.
If unsure always make a backup before doing anything.
Let me kno if this works for you

Can someone tell me exactly how to remove this file:
c:\system\data\PTIT9UDB0F.DAT
I seem to have the exact same problem with my 6630, don't want to have to send it away to Nokia if this might fix it.
Thanks in advance
Craig

well well... this problems OFTEN occurs to 6630... when i was using 6630, i format my phone i think almost every change of my batt when it's low batt, and when the new batt was insert in, boot up...the problem occurs.. i format my phone 1week>>3 times...i inisist no going to nokia care for a frimware upgrade, so i often backup my CONTACTS of course the most important of all, and the rest of my phone DATA WHEN THE PHONE GOT NO PROBLEMS. so when this problem happens...i just restore from my CARd...
but now, since this guy found the exact file to delete, i think it save us a lot of trouble....anyway i am using 6680 now...no problem at all, but slower a bit than 6630

I think it is really this causing all the problems... you see the bug often occurs when you hit any of the 0-9, * and # buttons, and it will reboot...
-when u wan to type a SMS, u go in, it automatically exit back to the main screen again.
-You tried to enter contacts....it exit back to the main screen again.
-You are reading a sms and u wan to reply, same thing it exit back to the main screen again
-And all those other apps that REQUIRES the 0-9, * and # buttons, you can't use them.
-When you are in the main screen, you hit and of the 0-9, * and # buttons, it will reboot ur phone...
That's y i think i agree this bug got to do with that file that only contains extra T9 dictionary inputs that you create yourself. As i thinks that something may had croupted this file...
