Unlocking Nokia 6820 - Phone for India

Gurus,

I'm getting couple of phones Nokia 6820 from cingular (USA). I want to give them for my family in india and use when I'm there.

So, I need to unlock these phone how do I do that. I have downloaded the software but I would like the experts opinion on what parameters I have to enter to unlock.

Also, does anybody know that these phones work in India.

I do not have these phones yet, I'm receiving them next week. So I thought I would be ready.

input imei... to view imei press *#06#
(warning imei its difrent in every phone, is a serial number..dont mix them up)
country -- usa
network -- cingular

then press calculate
you
should get 7 codes
the one on the top its the first
last the 7th..
now..
remove your sim card from the phone and turn it on..
insert the 1st code with no blanch spaces..:)
to get 'p' 'w' '+' press '*' several times:)
now
after you input the 1st code input the 7th code..
then your phone should say phone with out restrictions...
:)
now important...
you only have 5 attemmps to introduce the right code
..then your phone will be blocked to codes
ahh.. and the dont confuse your self.. each set of codes are only valid for the phone wich you have retrived you imei..

Here is the output I got based on the instructions. IMEI number here is just a random one (because I did not have the phones handy yet).

Model: Nokia (6820 )
IMEI: 123456789012345
Network: 31017000

#pw+214 855 445 210 151+1#
#pw+984 062 716 202 061+2#
#pw+493 457 721 106 357+3#
#pw+206 955 435 421 650+4#

#pw+728 320 457 625 627+7#

Now I enter the 1st code which is only pw+214 855 445 210 151+1 not "#" which are prefix/suffix.

Next I enter 7th code which is only pw+728 320 457 625 627+7 not "#" which are prefix/suffix.

It will look like pw+214 855 445 210 151+1pw+728 320 457 625 627+7 right ?

Also there is a space, I should be entering those as well or no spaces ?, pardon my novice, but I want to be sure.

thoose codes are correct for that imei .. if thats you network evrithing is fine

i cant put the spaces...
the spaces are only to give you a simple reading of the code..;)
now..
the codes are #pw+xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx+i#
and the #'s are also to input in the phone
both of them
so dont forget to remove your sim card first..
and dont make confusion with witch phone, witch code..:)
the codes are generated to each cell phone is difrent .. remember that..

ps: dont post codes..
is against the rules...
