You can try a prog called smartvcard. it puts all the contacts you want in a file....

SMARTVCARD (http://www.symbianware.com/product.php?id=svcard60&pl=n6600)

you can also dlod a trial from there..

Copy the file with your contacts in the mmc with fexplorer/seleq or another file explorer > install in your new phone smartvcard > copy the file from mmc to C:/ > restore your contacts with smartvcard...

(There was a prog that did the same things but was free, i didn't remember it's name was something like *card :-?)

You can also bluetooth all your contacts from your old phone to the new one...if they are compatible...(if you have a 7.0 phone you can select all your contacts and send all them in one time with 6.1 you have to do it one by one. ...)

Hope i've helped you

Cheers

menu-> tools-> transfer, what i used to get my contacts from my 3650 to my 6630

on the 6630 just select any contact and you can just copy to mmc, i presume this is a new feature of symbian 8 which 6630 uses

go to Menu > Tools > TRansfer .. on the 6630

leave your sim in the 6600 if you only have 1 (yes the 6630 without a sim anyways) turn bluetooth on both phones

and the 6630 will do all the work for you :)

just follow the instructions on the phone... the 6630 installs a Xfer program on the 6600

tried that , there is no option to send, i highlight the message and go to options and there is no "send" option?

will it be a case of installing FE or something to do this?

Ok, another way of doing it (this is kinda like the long way). Install F'explorer and have it running in the background. Go to "Memory" and choose to Backup to MMC. While this backup is running, multi-task (switch) back to FExplorer, and copy the contacts.cdb file (you can't do it while the phone is running normally, coz it's locked), and paste it somewhere (maybe on your E:\). Your phone might become a bit sluggish now, just do a reboot and it should be fine.

Transfer the file to the new phone (the one which you wanna restore your contacts to), and do the same thing to unlock the contacts.cdb file, while the backup is going through, multitask to Fexplorer and delete the existing contacts.cdb file, and paste the backed up one in it's place. Volia!!! lol..

Location of contacts.cdb: -

c:\system\data\

u could try as aussie said, move the contacts.cdb file, but let me warn u 1st, i doubt it will work on diff platforms (os 7 to os8, or diff phone models).

if u cant move it, change the name of data folder to data1, then move it. rem to rename it back.

good luck.

i am guess the moving contacts.cdb idea is usless to nath as it will replace his current contact list in his 6630 of the contacts transfered from 7610

i say if you got a BT dongle, connect to pc suite and use the transfer contacts to another phone part of pc suite, thats what i used to do between my n-gage and 3650
