nokia 6170 help please

silver haired newbie to this technology bought 6170 cheap tried
three different unlocking codes but only get error code. As far as i know there are no other codes in place seems I have five lives to get it to unlock or i have to buy a cable and presumably software to unlock. Do I pay matey down the market to unlock it or do i buy the gear advice please and best place to buy from.

gave me a different number. However neither worked

I tried unlocknokia free org also one other site i cant remember maybe it ended .za.
#pw+8653578629+1# is one to input, this sequence occured twice i input twice but only error
the other number sequence I copy straight from site page but also give error
so only two chances left
This site free calculator gives six chances all different
What to do?

i've seen your problem now.. should be easy.. that code is from one dct3
and nokia 6170 is DCT4 asic2
go to the unlock.nokiafree.org
calc..
and put imei on the dct4 calc..
then select your network
then select gen V2
then select nokia model ASIC 2
then press Get nokia dct4 unlock codes
use only 1st code generated.. if you got no "code error message" then use code +7
dont forget to remove sim card before entering the codes..
and you network must the original network of the phone

I agree with the settings posted, are you using the network the phone is locked to to generate the unlock code and not the Network you want to use ??
what network is it locked to out of interest ??

are you sure it is locked ??, have you tried another network sim card ?

do you get "code Error" message or "cannot undo Restriction"

yes it is locked, with my tesco sim i get 'phone restricted' message
when i press ok I then get 'enter restriction code' i just tried to enter code no go oops still have sim in card

Hi Learning..

Did you get your 6170 unlocked...I have the same phone on the same network (t-mobile) and would like to unlock it...any luck yet and can you keep us posted mate.

BTW... I purchased LOGOMANAGER PRO SUITE and it doesnt/wont change the OP logo...dont buy it yet mate until they sort the problem out...I have mailed them but not got any reply... :mad:

The directory structure in the GALARY doesnt seem to have anywhere to store the logo...or am I missing something??? :-?

When I try to store a logo using MobiMB it just says ERROR! and then comes up with a screen saying IGNOR/RETRY/CANCEL. :-x

Do any of you guys on here know what i'm doing wrong?..if anything :-?

I want to replace the OP logo with a blank one as it appears right over the piccy on the face of my son who is my current wallpaper....Bugger!!!! :-x

Hiya - i got a 6170 from t-mobile uk today - i've downloaded the latest version of crux unlocker and entered all the settings as outlined onthis thread - i tried code no. 1 #pw+207 275 636 574 577+1# which didn't work - i also tried code no. 7 which didn't work. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

dont try code +1..... if you try more than i code from the same set of codes you will waste trys

NINJANA's Guide and The online NokiaFree.org Calc DTC4

for 6170....

hi guys...i got a nokia 6170 and itz originally from UK or something on da phone it says made in finland...so i figured...

i tried several codes and it didnt work i dink i am locked out already so i need a serial cable but im not sure what serial cable to get on ebay.

is it da USB cable?? and wat program i need to use wit da cable..

I have tried everything to unlock my Nokia 6170b. It is locked to Centennial Communications. I tried using the Ultimate Calculator, ASIC type 2, 32821 ,no luck.

I tried using NOKIA Free Unlock Codes Calculator v3.0, tried ASiC type 6, 32821, no luck.

I looked at these posts and tried what was listed and nothing has work. I have about 30 i need unlock, so if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Everytime now it says cannot undo restriction.....
What do I do next ? does this mean it cannot be unlocked by a code and I have to unlock it by a cable, any advise on how to do this as I have not cable unlocked before ?
