Hi all,

I have a 3660(V4.57 21-10-2003 NHL-8 ). I have seen the following issue twice. I use a 512 MB NCP MMC media and the messages are stored here. I set the maximum number of stored messages to 50 initially and after i saw this issue the first time, i set it to 500 messages.

Everything was working fine, until after a month or so...I composed an SMS message and tried sending it. It showed that it failed and tried to send it a couple of times(network is clogged most of the times..and after some re-tries it does get through). I got an error message: 'Retry or Data will be lost'. Only 'Ok' soft-button was available and once it is pressed, the Messaging system hangs. On re-booting the phone and on clicking the Messaging icon in the main menu, i get a blank screen. I cannot close this application by pressing the 'c' button. It is only after several reboots and after removing the MMC media, that i could access Messaging.

All my messages were seen to be deleted, including the Message folders i created.

I then tried to view the Mail folder using FExplorer v1.11. All of them were empty and when it accessed one of the folders, FExplorer also hung and i cudn't get FExplorer to work even after reboots. (My suggestion to you all: Never set FExplorer to remember the previous path where it exited from.)

I then observed the contents of the MMC media on the PC via a card reader and there was a file in the Mail folder with a corrupted filename(strange characters), which i cudn't delete. So i had to format the media after copying the contents other than the Mail folder.(Fortunately for me i had taken a copy of the card on the PC.)
The FExplorer then worked fine.

Final Result: I lost all my messages

This issue was observed twice by me - at random times during sending-message.

Has any1 observed this kind of behaviour or can any1 help me in analysing this issue.

I searched the whole of Nokiafree, but wasn't able to get any info on this. I know this is a pretty long post, but i was hoping some1 cud help me with this problem.

Thanx!
