:-x I want to use my palm Zire to send and receive SMS messages.
I have already downloaded the Phonelink Update from Nokia, but there is no 6600 link available and all 6xxx phones did nto work too.
I think that I can configure a new connection if I have the connection String.
Does anyono know how to do it?
TIA
Joao

hmm..
i seemed to have finally gotten gprs working on the 6600.. I was looking for a thread that did this, but since there seems to be none, i think i'll post my results here..
basically you have to set your default access point to the gprs apn that you want to use on the nokia 6600. It the option available in Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> GPRS. Also make sure that your GPRS is Connection is set to "When Available", instead of "When Needed".
Go up a level and goto Data Call and set it to "Unlimited" instead of a default timer.
I am assuming that your access point is setup in the Access point portion of settings.
Now in The Zire, setup a bluetooth connection to your phone (Prefs -> Phone). Once it is setup, go to Prefs -> Connection, edit the connection you just setup and make sure the connection is Local Network instead of Phone with your phone acting as the device.
Now navigate to Prefs -> Network, and setup a new network connection. Give the service a name, set the username to your username (incase you apn uses one.. i set mine to the apn name), password to whatever and choose the phone connection you set up.
Click on details, My connection type is set to PPP, Idle timeout to NEVER, Query DNS is checked, IP Address is automatic.
Click on Script and enter the following Script
Send:+CGDCONT=1,"IP","your apn name"
Send CR:
Send:ATD*99#
Send CR:
End:
click okay and it should work.
Basically the script should make it unnecessary for you to specify the access point name, but these are the settings that worked for me and that's why i am letting you know.
Disclaimer.. The settings only work for the new firmwire 5.27.0. Confirmed not working for versions 3.27.0 or something and 4.47.0 or whatever...

Okay i have configured the palm to send sms.. it retrieves whatever sms are there on the sim as well..
Basically the thing you have to do is set the connection setting to updd in the palm, make sure the init string is empty and you have instant sms capability from the palm..
now i have to figure out how to retrieve the messages from the phone..
one step at a time..

Can somebody please help me on how to pass this AT command string
+CPMS="ME","ME","MT"
which is supposed to select the memory of sms storage. The two options are ME and SM, for which i think SM means SIM and ME means memory. But when i pass the command like that, i always get an error..
Does anybody here have any ideas?
