ffdshow only allows you to watch smartmovie clips on your pc, it has nothing to do with 3gp. I think what you'd need is a 3gp codec for wmp but i've only ever seen them for real one and quicktime.

The best idea would be to use 3gp2avi or a similar program to convert the 3gp into a format that smartmovie recognises.

yes, but the matter for me is that 3gpToAvi doesn't convert the .3gp files from the Philips camcoder pro!!Why?and what can do to convert those files to .avi format?(I remember when I wanted to read the .3gp files from camcoder on my pc, the real one player had to download a new codec.Maybe it can explain the problem!).Anyone?Thanx.

Just a comment:
3gp to avi is not very good. You can not convert a file from mpg or avi and use stereosound. So the program has got a lot of updating before it's any usefull at all in my opinion.
(Yes, the option is there, but it does not work) :-x

Try also 3gsauron, an appz that converts 3gp to avi. Just use the search on the net for this appz.

Heres one of the reason, for me as well. I need it because i used AVI files to create MPEG VCD format, 1st i can convert 3gp to AVI the to VCD, not so low low in quality but converting 3gp can enlarge your video up to 640x480, in respect to ImTOO converter.

but still, convertin 3gp to a vcd to be viewed on a tv??? its poor quality on your phone, let alone on a big tv screen. and when you enlarge it, the quality becomes even worse. its like playing a downloaded avi file thats only got a small screen area, then using the zoom in feature of media player to make it bigger (200% or somethin), things strat to look blocky and relaly poor

isnt there any new cam app around that records in decent quality?? i remember i used to use philips camcorder pro but cant remember if that used 3gp, mpeg or what??? although it wasnt bad quality??

I can say that the quality dont change when u converted it to vcd, it is the same and inpact that tv is more pixels than a pc and in that cause tv/vcd can play it with quality. Nope, no apps as of now can record with high quality but in my 6630 as well, its better than any other nokia phone on video recording.
