Hi Frenz..

I just wanted to know if there is anyway to check the speed of an MMC on a phone.. by speed i mean if the response time of 1 mmc is faster than the other.
the reason for such a query is that i was recently using a local market EagleTec 128 MB MMC. Then my bro got a 9500 in which he got a Nokia original 128 MMC (which he dint find big enough for his use.. :p )

So i switched MMC with him and started using the NOKIA original 128 MB MMC.. ;-) To my surprise my phone response time decreased like anything. :-o .
Themes switched faster, menus opened faster, faster multi-programming, etc etc etc.. i was impressed.. :-D

So I was wondering if I could check that using some application or program, so that if i have choice of different MMC's to buy from, I can select the best one available.. ( the companies available here are NCP, Transcend, SanDisk, etc..)

Thanx for reading and replying (in advance).

PS: Please tell me how do you get the ratings increased for your username.. (like the stars you get under your id..)

stars under ur nick is based on number of posts u post.

as with speed of mmc, smaller = lesser stuff on it = faster.

and also, my opinion of rsmmc is that is faster compared to mmc, someone correct or confirm with me?

Hey Tzeonn.. tx for replyin..

but the point is that I have exactly the same stuff filled in with the new 128 NOkia original MMC as was in the older normal one.. (rather much more)..

so it should be working similarly slow, which it's not..
it's going real smooth and fast..

so it has to be something, either in composition of cards, or somethin that Nokia implemented in its MMCs...

No nokia does not implement anything in its MMC's other than strict quality contorl... I think the reason behind such good performance with an original nokia mmc is that they use better quality material (for storage) than the rest of the companies.. how else can u explain the cheaper rates of local brand mmc's

One other theory i came across ( i was told by a local store owner ), is that the local MMC's are acually of much less capacity than listed in it.. and that they are overclocked to accomodate a higher capacity.. (just like we overclock our PC processors).. i dunno know if this is true or not.. but i dont personally believe it....

Cheers
