Ive read through these threads and im still a bit confused on how i would go about debranding my 2 nokia. i have a 6230 and a 7610. Do i need to buy a box and flash the fone? or can i just buy a data cable or clip and download some sort of software to change it?
thanks for your help

to debrand your fones you need to flash them flashing is not easy and if not sone before could end up killing your handset try visiting your local mobile phone shop some shops do it with their boxes also you could go to your nearest nokia service center and tell them your handsets are cutting out and so on they will then reflash your phone

okay,

i've just flashed mcu ppm and cnt on nokia 6230 to version RH-12 v 5.50

however "vodafone live" still there as option in goto menu and on right hand key.

i have them turned off - but am wondering how i can get rid of "vodafone live" as option - if i could do this the phone would be really debranded

any help?

What CNT file did you use? Try RH12_28_11005.50.ucp_c

you must do an erase before you flash!

if this doesnt work then erase again and again, and then flash... i had this problem for a while and it wasnt until i got fed up and tried the erase that it worked for me!!

the UCP_C file is a generic content but for some reason it doesnt get rid of that flamin button!! unless you erase...

am using a ufs3 box. If I erase the whole flash it will affect PM? I've never touched PM before - heeded the warning!! so I'd have to reflash the PM

Can you tell me plz what's involved in flashing PM & which file

Already I've flashed the following trying to get rid of the "vodafone live" button

MCU rh12_28_11005.500
PPM rh12_28_11005.50c
CNT rh12_28_11005.50.ucp_c

Thanx

Flashed as above and clicked on Format Button, accepting deletion of user settings
