if anyone can help i'd be very grateful.
recently got a 3230 and i'm very happy with it so far. until i installed task man that is.
it didn't seem to work properly at first so i tried to uninstall it but it wouldn't let me. it seemed to uninstall ok but when i then looked at app manager, task man was still there. when i looked at the logs it said something else had been uninstalled instead ("commonhelper" or something like that)
then, yesterday, i switched my phone off and turned it back on but it wouldn't boot up. i get the error message "App. closed AppArcServerThread" and however many times i press ok the message comes back up. i also get the message "task man closed" or something like that.
so i switched the phone off again, took the memory card out and switched it back on and it worked fine. i then inserted the memory card while the phone was still on, went into app manager and was able to see all the apps on the memory card. i tried uninstalling task man again and got the "App. closed AppArcServerThread" message again. now the phone has frozen and won't even let me turn it off :((
sooo... any help is much appreciated. i'd rather not have to format the phone or the memory card if at all possible

thanks

now i inserted the memory card again (while phone was on) and when i go to gallery > memory card it says memory card corrupted :(
and in app manager everything's gona apart from one thing.
i think i might have messed ti up properly this time. i guess formatting the mem card is the only option now??
someone please tell me different

In your case, I think i should go for the best option which is to format the memory card first then the phone, format the mem card to pc then format the phone then format the mem card use the phone.

thanks for the reply. i'm not quite sure what you mean tho...
do you mean i should format the memory card from inside the phone? what do you mean "format the memory card to pc"?
and do you really think i need to format the phone too? will that mean losing everything? including the games etc that came shipped with the phone?
thanks

default nokia games when u 1st bought it will not be lost, ur phone will become like when u 1st bought it after a format.

but all settings, installed apps, msgs, tones, wallpapers etc will be gone.

format phone 1st, then format the memory card in phone, not pc.

I mean that you format the memory card to the PC by using a card reader - this is much better to refresh the memory card before formatting it to your phone and to reset any bin value of the mem card then you can now format it to your phone for initialization and for preparation for phone usage. Yes it will lost anything, and like Tzeonn said its like you bought a new phone that has a default settings.

right i see. i don't have a card reader i'm afraid. thinking of investing in one at some poitn though. it won't matter too much doing it from the phone will it?

Its ok to format it on phone only.... It wont matter too much.

just format your phone, back up your contacts in your SIM then remove your MMC and key in *#7370# to soft format your fone..it will be restored to its original factory settings
