Hi guys...
my bloody 6630 keeps turning itself off.
The battery is fine (fuly charged)... when I have been lucky enough to be looking at it as it turns itself offthe screen just sorta fades to a blank screen....
Any ideas?
The firmware is ancient:
V 2.39.151
19-11-04
RM-1
If I need it flashing... I wouldnt have a clue where to take it or how much it will cost... or anything about flashing it for that matter!
HELP!?!
well...if u don't want to go for flashing...u my need to get use to this types of problems happenening to 6630..Cos this is common...
Procced to any nearest Nokia CAre.,...get ur phone flash...and u're fine..
if u choose not>> then do a hard reset/format on ur phone...thereafter, Remember to go to ur MMC option back up ur phone data, so when each time when this problem happens again...just go back to ur mmc function and restore from card...but make sure, u also back up ur contacts and the rest...

I rang a local nokia care centre the other day... they said "we can do it in-house... but some 6630's go completely dead... in which case we will have to send it back to nokia!"
I asked what the sucess rate is... he said "about 50% work, the other half have to go back to Nokia!"
Hummmmm...
He said it's flashed by USB... cant I do that myself for free? (Or is it a different USB cable!?)
ever since my 1st phone with USB cable 6630 till now 6680 i still do not know how to use the cable....it always promt mi for the driver....but i do not know where to look for it... Pc suit doesn't have it....

Try using Win XP, i think that your driver problem is on the USB adapter. Mine is ok, im using XP and my adapter is well ok...
for you en1gm4, i think you should flash your phone in the Nokia Center, they have a warranty. Yeah its costly but you can have assurance on Nokia Care Center.

If U call the nokia service point and state that you got network problems with UR 6630, they will flash it 4 free. They did it 4 me as well! Works as a charme right now.
The problems I had were thta the phone was alwats looking 4 a good antenna peak and switch a lot through G3 and normal network.
Now they have added a setting in the network. So it's possible 2 enter it manually.
My firmware now is: V 3.45.113
KInd regards and good luck 2 ya

flashing is done using the dku-2 usb cable, but this has to be attached to a pheonix black box which isnt cheap at all, the only thing ive heard about dead 6630 after a flash is if they flash it with an earlier firmware
