N6680 bugs...

Ive come across a bug which is when u press the green button to go to log and then again to dial the number it doesnt actually call the person, nothing happens. The only way to dial a number is by typing the number at the main screen and then calling.

i just figured out that it only happens with o2 after i send a txt and get the automatic balance thing back.

Yeah, I've had that problem. Also, another thing i've found is that if you take a picture with the back cam, goto send as MMS then while it is preparing the image, you close the camera cover, it corrupts all the images on the mmc card and then deletes them. A little annoying.

I'm running v2.04.15 on my 6680. I think theres a newer version out but I'm not sure if i can be arsed to get it upgraded. Theres a lot of 3 branding and customisation on my phone and I'd rather not fuck everything up by getting a clean flash put on.

I've speaking to a company called net.com 0208 977 5050 who are able to perform software upg on this phone. No one else has had the training from nokia as I have phoned around for mine.

As advised by them, you get your phone back in an original state as you purchased it from your service provided, hence the software that 3G put on it will be back on it.

I hope that makes sense

until now i thought the latest firmware was 3.04.11 (14-04-05), however on an orange 6680 the firmware was 3.05. Does anyone know what the official latest firmware is.

Hi, I spoke to nokia uk today they have advised me that a new software version 3.04 (20/07/ 05)has been released for all nokia 6680.

Hi, if you take your phone to a SC they will perform a software upg Free of charge if your phone is still under warranty.

Some of the SC do it while you wait.

Really? A friend of mine though, needed to format and upgrade his 7610, but they gave it back to him with nothing more than the OS. They deleted every app he got when he bought it. What's that about??

It's just like reinstalling windows on your pc, you lose everything apart from the OS. Sometimes they bundle a load of apps when you buy the fone, and these would get deleted as they reflashed the fone.

Well they fixed my phone finally. It has just the OS installed, even the games are deleted too. My new firmware is:
V 3.04.37
01-06-05
RM-36

BTW, if someone has the same problem as I had, it is because of the MMC. As the guy at the nokia center (roughly) said " Installing ngage games on the MMC, f**** up the registry. Don't do it again" Yeah yeah right. He had to format the MMC twice though...

what the SC told you is bullocks!!! about the MMC card. Whe nthey perform the upg they take the mmc card out.... :)

Man, considering that I live in Greece, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to get the upgrade in wherever you live. Really. Anyway, he did remove the MMC for the upgrade, but the problem still remained. That's why he had to format it.

To flash your own phone you will need a DCT-4 box that support BB5 flashing like a JAF or a Griffin.

As for firmware normally when you buy a flashing box you get access to a support area when you can download firmware & product updates.

Or you can get it from http://www.iphone-forum.org/ however you need a minimum of 20 posts before you can download the files.
