screen invert
Inverting The Screen
- without taking your phone apart -
What you will need: Rolis 4.7*, Hex Workshop (or preferred Hex editor), NFree 1.2, B-phreaks Logger & -tek-/faid monster & koci, A Flasher Cable/Kit, An M-bus compatible datacable, a Nokia DCT3 phone.
1. First make a backup of your phone 200000 - 400000
2. Make a copy of the backup
3. Open the backup copy in Hex Workshop.
4. Search for the following Hex String (without the spaces)....
7809 4388 0600
5. Change the Hex String '88' to 'C0' (0 = zero, not the letter O) so it looks like this
7809 43C0 0600
6. Save The File.
7. Open the file in NFree and calculate PPM & MCU Checksums
8. Flash the file back to the phone
9. Calculate the FAID with logger software
so far i`ve tested it on a 3210
have fun

The text on my netmonitor menu is blinking, so if i want to change the color, i just show the menu in one second, and exit the menu. :)

hello!
just a few questions from an interested flasher:
1. how did you know that in Hex string 7809 4388 0600, if 88 is changed to C0, the screen will become inverted?
2. Is there a manual or something that describes the function of each hex string and all the possible modifications that can be done with it? Or at least a software or something that interprets hex into something that ordinary mortals can understand?
3. If there is such, would anyone be kind enough to share it with me? I'm more into hardware-software repair but i'm getting more interested in flash modification.
Thanks!!! and PEACE TO ALL!!!! :D

That tute works a treat, just tried it myself...
If your struggling to find the hex string, make sure you take out the spaces...

Isn't the flash in 7110 encrypted like that of te 6210? If so then you wouldn't be able to find that string.
Just a thought

Upload your full 7110 backup so I can download it, and I will have a mess around with it if you want.

it works well with 6250 v5.03 but with 7110... i can't seem to find the hexstring...
@scottjohnmiller... i think there's no need for me to upload my FULL backup coz if the hexstrings are the same with 62xx, i think i could find it... but if it's different, i think it's STILL in the MCU part but thanks tho.

Pipoy,
just flashed myself an inverted lcd using genolite v1.6,
flashed it succesfully on my 3310.
But my screen hasn't changed.
Anything i missed?
Is there a toggle or sumthing in the netmonitor to switch it on off?
Godspeed! :)

@Nexus:
You can get Rolis 477 to work under Windows XP..
It was giving you some sort of "Privileged Instruction" error, then becoming a rampant zombie process, right?
Here's how to use it under Windows XP:
Right-click on the file FLASHER477.EXE and go to Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and tell it to run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows ME, then click OK.
It should work after that point. :)
