Unable to change from number mode to text when writing messa

On my Nokia 6600, when I go into messages and write new and type it comes out in numbers! Used to be normal Dictionary. So I press the pencil and nothing happens, no change and no menu (used to be a menu that comes up and you can change from Alpha to Numerical and that). Any ideas?

No change after restart and removing MMC.

Hold the # key in and the numbers will change to letters if you do it agin it will change to predictive text ...

Already thoguth of that as thats what I did on my old Nokias before they had the Pencil button! All this does is leave a huge line of hashes!
Not only will it now be in number mode when writing messages, but also when you look up contacts phone numbers and that! ANd the pencil button is definately working as it make the click/beep noise when you press it.

i got something like this on my old 3650 after i installed wild skinz. everytime i tried to write text it just came out as numbers and i couldnt change it back, all i could do was format it. maybe try that??
