View Full Version : Symella file sharing app. for 6680

I want to download and install the Symella file sharing application for my (Orange ruined) Nokia 6680.

Which version do I need? Does the 6680 have Symbian OS v6.1 or v7.0?
And people who have installed, can you please go through the general steps please, I am a phone no0b!!

Hi,

Download the lastest v.7 version. It is a .SIS file. All .SIS files are install packages. You need to transfer it to your phone, either Blutooth/email/memory card/data cable. Then run it (find using explorer).

Then just open and click connect, then search. It isnt very user friendly but no doubt it will improve. It doesnt upload only download.

The 6680 runs SymbianOS 8 - http://www.symbian.com/phones/#6680.
The Symella software designed for version 8 looks really good but I'm a little curious as to how they're going to fit all that onto the screen of a mobile. The compiled version should be available anytime now according to the website.

I can't seem to get this to connect successfully.

I've installed the software, clicked connect and all I get is the following...
Error GWC, IPs:0
Cache U:0,W:0,X:0

Are there any settings that have to set once it's installed?

No problems here, got it installed.

Just click connect and it eventually connects to about 10 peers and i can start downloading whatever I want.

Plopbob, you said about that Orange 3G bundle offer, 30 mins of video calls free per month and 1GB of data. But what data?? is it any data across 3G or GPRS as well or what?
And when I make a connection do I make it through "Orange Internet" or "Orange GPRS WAP"?

you are confusing the series 80 version that the screen shot is shown off, s80 being the the 7710, 6680 is an series 60 platfrom with version 8 of symbian
