6630 firmware upgrade problem...

Hello everyone,

On my 6630 I currently have Firmware v2.39.151 (19-11-04).
I took it to my local Service Centre to get the latest version flashed.
(Which I believe is v4.03). The guy who was performing the flash said that it got to about 13% then crashed. He tried again and at 13% it crashed again.
He said it will need to go to a higher level Service centre for it to be upgraded because there is something wrong with the phone.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone else had a problem getting their 6630 reflashed. Could it be because the original version of firmware is too low to be flashed to a higher version? Is the guy just not doing it right? Could there be something installed on my phone causing the problems?

If anyone has some info, thanks in advance!

I had that problem with my 6630, i took it to a service center in york, they had it for bout 40 mins n said it kept failing to flash at about 57%, so he messed with some stuff, and said the phone will re-lock itself back to the orig network when its upgraded, n i was like ooo.. i dont want it back on voda, but told him to do it anyway, he tried a file he had downloaded off the net, and it flashed first time no probs, think ive got 4.03.18 now, and the phone was still unlocked when he had finished which he didnt understand but hey, its all good.

im still seek for unlock my cellphone, but my phone crash with a virus!! :o in the menu appear "Skulls" and "hearts saying 'i love you' " the phone shut down, and start again appear the nokia screen no more... :-x :-x :evil:

The same happend to me I tried to get my 6630 reflashed today and was told the same thing they have had to send it back to Nokia to get the OS back on and said it will take about two weeks. I have been reading about this on the internet since I got my phone 3 weeks ago and thought it would reflash first time.

I have a small problem since I upgraded mine to 4.03...
Before I sometimes had a problem with sms getting stuck in the phone. After the upgrade it almost always gets stuck.
Anyone heard of that problem? :x

hmm after i have read here then i think i will not get my phone upgraded since i also have a 6630 so i think i will keep my old firmware:D
