Changing band from 850/1900 to 900/1800 for Nokia N-gage QD

Hi,

I have bought a Nokia N-Gage QD on eBay, and it turns out it doesn´t work hehe because I got a american model (850/1900) and I needed an europian model (900/1800). Is there any way I can change these setting without taking it to Nokia centers?
Maybe a firmware update? How can I do this?

not sure but i think its a hardware issue, not software or changing a simple setting
