Someone has just asked me if its possible to use the unlocker on their nokia which is locked to the OneTel network? Are these independant or do they use one of the more popular networks to run their business?

Any ideas on how they could unlock their phone?

Check in www.gsmworld.com, unde roaming section, if the network exists. If it exists, there has to be a propietary code for them. Networks that borrow the deployed network from another provider are not listed there (tracfone for example). So, if's not there, it's borrowing the network from someone, thus it has a propietary hidden network code, and you need a box to read it (that's what happened with Tracfone for example).

Onetel are an MVNO that use the Vodafone network. They are relatively small though, and so far do not appear to have used their own locking MCCMNC. Most of their phones appear to be unlocked, but if it is not, try using Vodafone. Let us know how you get on!
