I bought a QD off of eBay for 71 and got it a week or so back. I found out that it did not come with a sim card because the person that sold it to me kept the sim card because it had business information on it.
I went online and found one for $5 and finally got it today. After searching online for at least an hour or 2, I came acroos something where I found out that I had to unlock the phone.
I searched everywhere online, and only found places that sold the unlock codes. I just happened to stumble across this page.
I got the software, put in my IMEI code, and I thought I was putting it in correctly, but low and behold, I was not (I put in *#06# and found out that I was inputting it in wrong). After 2 attempt at the wrong code, I put in the correct code, but put in t-mobile (it is the sim card I got). I wasn't reading careful enough to know that I was supposed to be inputting the old carrier's comp name.
So, I went to e-mail the woman, when she said that she had a cingular manager at her workplace. Now I knew what the company was, and only had 1 try to do it (I had already tried 4 times). I inputted the code, and it worked flawlessly.
All that for a gaming device that I spent $71 for, but you know what...
It was better than paying an extra $15 to do it.
