Hi,

I got a Nokia 1600, T-Mobile, Germany, Type RH-64, is this a dct4-model?

Do I have to use a ASIC? Which one?

Many thanks

Ok, I found it by myself,

it is the ASIC 2 and Original GEN, so whoever is interested in unlocking Nokia 1600 may do so!

Have fun!

That means, it has worked for you?

I have a T-MOBILE Hungary n1600. Selecting ASIC 2 and Original GEN will work then?

hi!

my new 1600 does not like the codes... i entered code 7 wich was calculated by NOKIAfree calc v3.75.
settings: ASIC2 and ORIGNAL GEN (32779)

it does NOT work!! and made no mistake entering this one.

in another post (http://nokiafree.org/forums/showthread.php?p=339781&posted=1#post339781) i found something about CUSTOM BOXCODE 32825 for T-Mobile.

so what, dont wanna try another code, coz got just 2 tries left...

Hi,
Unfortunately I've fucked up a mobile phone after 3 unsuccessful attempts:
-Phone: Nokia 1600
-locked to: Orange provider
- I have downloaded and used NokiaFREE unlock calculator v3.10, following settings
1) in EXPERT MODE, select DCT4 (expert only)
2) Service provider in my case: Orange
3) Selected 'Asic 2' in the first drop down box.

4) Second combo box:

1st attempt : Selected 'Original' as written above on this thread
2nd attempt : Selected 'V2' as seen in another thread
3rd attempt : 'Asic 6' just to try...

5) I used #7 and I got "Code error" for each attempt... :(

I hope this can help someone and learn about what not to do...

I know that now it's too late and only a cable unlock will work out, but what do you think I should have tried ?

if you've used only 3 tries then you still have 2 left ;)

since the ASIC and GEN (except V2) are valid ones i think that there might something wrong either with IMEI (be sure you typed it right) or with the Operator code (must type the one it's locked to and not the one you want to use)

other than i can only think of using code #1 since it's what usually UK providers use

cheers

Well, I'm afraid there is no more tries left as I now got message "cannot undo restriction" (or sth like this, i don't know exactly cause i'm emailing calculated codes to a friend, i just write down here his feedback). But maybe he has made 5 tries already (whereas i've sent him 4 codes)...

100% sure about IMEI and Network code (although i'm new user in this forum, i'm not at my first unlocking, and till now I always got successful attempt - Besides, nokia's locked to new TELE2 provider, see my other thread, still need help by the way ;) )

I've also tried to use #1 (for the 4th attempt) but I don't know if it was too late or not, anyway didn't work neither...

I rather think It's 'just' question to find out what is the correct combination of GEN + #code (1,7 or 2,3...?) which match to French Orange simlock.

I've 'burnt' my five tries to figure it out, still didn't find, I wish someone can continue my job and find out the right combination...
Unfortunately, not so many french users here ! :???:

DCT4 (expert only) / asic2 / original ?

Thx

I was just able to unlock a 1600:

Country Portugal - Vodafone

Software Used - Nokia Free Calculator v3.1
Used DCT4 - ASIC2 - Original - Code 7

You helped a lot.

I had already tried other combinations. Stoped at the 3rd attempt.

Thanks

Mr Mestrini,

I am only a newbie at this but after unlocking a Nokia 3315 sucessfully using Nokia free calculator, and reading all I could find in this forum on a Nokia 1600
I thought I would give the 1600 a go.......Well let me tell you for sure that you only get 3 tries. That is absolutely, definitely the case and the correct unblocking number which I then obtained does not reverse engineer to any of the box serials listed,(V2,Original,One,etc), it appears to be Custom 33060. Despite other people having success with this I didn't.
Thats all I know atm. :-? :-?

Morry

I'm sorry to hear your experience. But, Mr. mestrini is indeed right, the 1600 has a 5 tries limit, as almost all DCT4 with some exceptions, namely 6101i, if I recall correctly (but I may be wrong... please, someone correct me if I am).

Now... some phones come out from the box with some tries used, some with all tries used... they are exception, but they are known exceptions. It can happen indeed.

As for the serial you have... in fact, as Mr. mestrini tested, Nokia phones accept several serials, approximately 2048 possible serials. According to the one you have... it would be very surprising that Original or ONE serials (those are the known denominations) could not unlock the phone. That would mean that Nokia blacklisted 3 of the newest serials in a single firmware release, which is, considering the time Nokia took to blacklist 33820, very strange. And also, there are several variables that would make this option almost impossible.

I guess it's just bad luck. Sometimes happens.

Best regards
Edge.
