Been using the N3230 for 10 months...then i noticed that "rust" like scratches were now present on some parts of the housing. This rust like thing is actually primer paint. I also saw an "exposed" part wherein the chrome finish has worn off (shows that the casing is really made of hard plastic)...

I wonder..will Nokia sell replacement housing for the N3230??..i havent seen any merchant/trader in the black/grey market sell a facsimile of such housing, unlike for the plastic housings for N6600/N7650 and other series 40 phones

Finally...one of the stalls here in Makati City sells Class A replaceable casing/housing for the N3230...comes in black, blue, light blue & burgundy :D sells for about 300-400 pesos or USD $ 6-7 , you have to use the proper tools to install it though

hi tzeonn...

on dismantling...you first snap off the top cover/part (switch) from the phone (its a snap on part, you can use a flat screw driver to snap it off from behind...just be gentle)...from there remove the 2 back screws near the camera (exposed when the snap on part is removed), then remove the battery, there are two visible screws inthe battery compartment...remove them...once you remove them...the front cover can be removed, from there you can snap off the LCD from its connector...then there are 3 more screws beneath (where the LCD was located). Remove the 3 screws and your done..just handle the parts with care :D

btw..i haggled the vendor and got the spare housing at $2 USD..hehehe i just used my mobile phone screw driver to install the thing..good as new :D

well most imitation or A-1 replica mobile phone housing are made in China or Taiwan :D Nokia OEM housing are outrageously expensive and impractical...

OEM (US $ 45) vs A-1 Replica ($ US 3.50) ???

hehehehe...quality is almost the same and the finish is almost like the original :D
