with a little balls and daring and a lot of help from the posting of uggy dated 3.2.2005 in this forum:

http://nokiafree.org/forums/t72780/h/s.html

i followed the instructions and even though i am a novice in this - i succeeded in opening my israeli cellcom 3100 sim restriction and to make the phone work with an israeli orange/partner sim card. hope it will work abroad as well!!

the 3100 needs a DCT4 code
the network code for cellcom is 42502
phone type: 2
the box number that i got is 34144
this info was helpfull when using the calculator

thanx for having this site and this forum - all power to you and everyone who wants to bust big business providers who wan to force us to pay them extortionate rates for our freedom!!

btw - no more need to regard my previous posting.

i am trying to help a buddy of mine unlock his cellcom 3100 and noticed you used the new griffin box serial for the unlocking. sim in or out? what code did you use? 7? 1?

3100 probably does not need a not accepted sim to recognize the code. However, you will notice if you need one, because if the phone does not recognize the code, it will stay sitting on the screen and nothing will happen. If that's the case, put a not accepted sim in the phone, and then type the code.

For Israel networks, chances are seventh code will do the job.

As for the serial... it depends on the firmware. Type in your phone *#0000# and see the firmware date. If it is 04, use Original. If it's 05, use ONE. New Griffin has not been broadly tested, so I can't assure you that it has not been blacklisted on your phone.

Post results please!

Best regards

thanks so much for the advice Edge!
the cellcom 3100 got unlocked after following your instructions -- it was tested with and accepted an orange sim right afterwards
thanks again!

Hi,

In the last few weeks I tried for a number of times with different type of mobile to use the calculator for Israeli phones but all of them failed.

I think that both Cellcom and Partner communication changed the locking method to new phones.

I just tried a new Nokia 3100 (out of the box) and all codes failed.

Does anyone know if the mobile operators in Israel change the locking method?

Thanks
Amir
