I am trying to find unlock code for Nokia 6682 on Cingular

I noticed on a couple of the posts that you can pay the carrier to unlock it but I contacted Cingular and they would not do it and said Nokia will not do it either, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did the guy at Cingular understand what you are looking for? sometimes, even the customer service does not know what is an unlock code. Usually, you have to pay for it.

What calls my attention is that the guy said that there is no possibility to get the code, and said that Nokia would not give the code to you. That is an useless comment, since Nokia cannot provide unlock codes. Nokia provides the tools to providers that allow them to lock and unlock phones, but not the codes.

That is why I doubt the guy knew what you were looking for.

Now, if he indeed understood and said that there was no way to unlock the phone, we are facing something different from what we know, even BB5.

Our experience with the N series is very limited. Since it is a new series of phone and to the date only two persons presented this series here, we are not sure which technollogy they use to lock the phones. We are pretty sure it is not DCT4 tech. Our doubts are between if it's a new BB5 phone, or a new technollogy. It would be rather strange if it's a new technollogy since the BB5 technollogy is rather new, but it could be possible of course.

So in abstract, there's not much to say. Be sure that Cingular's customer service understand what you are looking for, and pay attention to their answer. Please, keep us up to date since we do not have much info about N series.
