My wife just bought me a 512 MB MMC for my 3650 for Christmas. I put it in my phone and now my phone says that there is no memory card installed! I don't have any clue what to do...do I need to format it? How do I do that? HELP!!!

Are you sure the 3650 supports 512MB? Just a guess.

Wifey just bought me a 1 gb RS-MMC card for my new 'phone.
However, the error message - (no memory card inserted) appears.
I have formatted the card, and it's recognised by the card reader. But as soon as it's in my phone (and the wifeys as she also has an N70), I just get this annoying error message...

Any one help?

Both our 'phones have standard 64Mb cards, and these are exchangable, so one would think that a 1 gb card would also be so...

The card is an RS-MMC by Dane-elec (bought from cclonline), and they guaranteed it would work on the 'phone.

Help?

I was in Virgin Megastores in Cairo the other day and they had a really good 512 RS-MMC but the guy there told me not to buy it as it is NOT compatible with my N90, he said for N90 I have to buy a DV RS-MMC . And then later I asked again at Carrefour and they said the same thing. So I guess it is the same with the N70.

And with the 3650 I thought it only supports up to 128MB for the old firm and 256MB with the new one, but I could be wrong.

Agree Totally

Most newer nokia phones require Dual Voltage RS MMC cards

Anybody know why nokia are so picky ?

Or is it down to money?

I dont know whats with Nokia, they always tend to piss me off, I spend a good deal of money on MMC cards and now they are all useless, and the new thin charger WHY WHY WHY ??? I thought the more we advance in technology the more we converge in apliances but it seems that we tend to diverge.

PS. In the US they know nothing about RS-MMCs their slow mobile market is reeeeeally buggin me.

i dont think money is much of an issue, i think the newer cards rum on 1.8v and the older ones on 3.3v so i am assuming the newer ones extend battery life of phone ever so slightly...............its just a guess

Nokia use the lower voltage to reduce battery useage. Reduced Size Dual Voltage MMC cards usually are supplied with an adaptor and work wherever an 'ordinary' MMC card does.

The new power lead did appear to be a pain but an adapter lead costs less than a fiver and both the N90 and N70 come with an adapter as well as a new charger. All my old chargers back to the one I got with my 6110 all work fine.
