Hi all,

I have just been working my way through the latest batch of broken phones and came across a Nokia 6230 that displays insert sim. After flashing with latest 5.50 firmware the phone now boots and works ok. I have tried different sim cards but only Vodaphone UK will work so set about unlocking it. My Twister Gold can't unlock it. The MMC MNC is listed as: 001-01 Provider: Test Equipment

It works fine with Vodaphone UK sim but nothing else.

Anybody seen this before?

Thanks

Adam

mate... i am by no means an unlocking expert but the 001-01 your seeing is actually used for GSM test SIM cards when using test equipment!! you should try unlocking it with the online unlocker on this site...

as for fixing the Insert SIM fault i am impressed you managed to fix it with just a software upgrade... i have seen so many of these phones that are impossible to fix without a new BGA!! well done!! :-D

00101 is the MCC+MNC one gets for an originally unlocked phone or one unlocked via box ;)
