Hi , I have a 8210 which is not working. A friend of mine told me to check the current consumption of the phone. How do i check it? What are the testing points ? Please help me.
Thank You Very Much.

I see two ways to do it
1- Get a power supplier and connect it to phone while working
2- Activate Netmonitor (search the forum how to) and look at test 23

I agree Mr Mistrini, the first way is how i usually do it, use a power supply with a specially prepared battery...
as you guys may know, most phone batteries have a small circuit built into them which is more of a safety device which protect you from the cell exploding if you accidentally short the contacts!! but in this circuit there is also a preset resistance. when some phones start up they check the resistance between to ake sure it is present... if not then the phone wont power up...
this resistance is sometimes called a Battery ID Resistance or a Battery Size Indicator (BSI) as differnt sized batteries have different resistances the phone can determine which battery it has been connected to...
anyway the whole point of this post was to tell you that the best way to do it is to use a power supply and strip an old battery out and solder wires onto the board inside!!! put it back together again (without the cell) and you have a Service Battery!!!

ps sorry bout the long winded post but i was MEGA bored!!!
