Just wondering, but any of you guys have a site where "you can pre-order a Nokia N80".

Example:
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=127499

I just want to know the different (reliable) sites that we can purchase Nokia N80s.

I'm presuming the N80 will be out in the middle of 2nd Quarter here down under ...

Rumor on the net has it that N80 will be out in the 3rd week of April. Of course you realize that Nokia don't pre-announce the launch so no lanuch date can be consider as official.

Is that for the UK?

Yes, but with Nokia's launch of recent year, the date should apply to the major countries as well.

Here is one for you:

World-of-cellphones (http://www.world-of-cellphones.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=12)

Note: I have never personally dealt with them and there are a lot of scam going on so be very careful.

In most countries, once they receive the shipment, it will take at least another week before they can put it out in the street since they might need to do customization on the phone such as putting logo stickers on the phone as well as loading a vendor specific set of software on the phone.

Already have mine :) http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25634I have been using Symbian phones since my 6600. Currently on 7610 and is waiting for N80 for a while already. The only concern I have with N80 is the weak battery couple with Wi-Fi function which I am quite sure is going to cause problem. Can you comment on the battery life with heavy Wi-Fi usage?

Another question is on the standard software that comes with the N80. What applications are already on it? I read somewhere that Nokia has added quite a few applications as standard software.

Thanks

Hi there,

Battery life I've not tested with Wifi. But I think the max I'm getting out the handset at the moment is 2 days and one night (with bluetooth & wifi both off). This is whilst the handset is in Dual Network mode (most of the time in 3G coverage).

It comes with quickoffice. iRadio. Snakes. Card Deck. Realplayer. Flash player.

I don't have a software CD with my handset.

N80 will be available any time now!! In Singapore, this should happen either late this week or early next week.

To start everyone off with this phone, here are a couple of freeware applications for S60 3rd Edition.

SExplorer (Beta) http://www.symbian-freak.com/news/006/04/sexplorer_v07.htmAs most of you know, the older S60 software will not work on this phone unless they are recompiled so expect to have a bit of lead time between the initial release of this phone and the availability of the S60 3rd Edition software.

I'm only worried about two things:
1. Whether the OS is responsiveness, and not laggy
2. Whether the sliding keypad is poor/flimsy and "needs grease"
