Hi All

It's a while since I've unlocked a phone....have I missed something?

Have a 6230i, after I enter unlock code do I have to press another key?

as nothing happens, I thought you entered code and as you press the last hash key it would automatically unlock

HELP PLEASE

Insert a different network's sim card, then switch your phone back on,
When it says phone restricted, press "undo",
It will then ask for a restriction code, simply enter the unlock code provided into the box on the phones screen as if you were typing a text message.

Either,

1. You have the wrong code
2. Phone has used up all its unlock attempts
3. Phone isn't locked

What settings are you using, what network is it locked to? Please don't post your IMEI.

Your phone is hardlocked and the only way to unlock the phone is by using a tool that cost $300+

Best take it down to a small phone repair shop, they will unlock it for around $30

Hi Adam

Thanks for your reply

1.The code was off this site, which I have used in the past, on my phone, my lady's phone and also helped out a few friends who did not have a clue what to do, but that's what friends are for, and always worked with NO problems, I guess it's a later phone, I also had one try "7" with one calculator recommended on this site.

2.That is a possibility, I'm sure I have only tried 3 times

3.It is locked, will not accept a different Sim, vodafone!

The phone is on Orange UK.

Turned phone off, replaced Sim with Voda Sim, turned phone on, pressed undo, entered code "7" then Code "1" with the calc on this site, did the same with the recommended calc only tried "7", all with the same result, I did try prior to this without a Sim, but NOTHING happened at all, hence my first post where I was told to put a different Co Sim into phone, hope this all makes sense.

I entered ...............

IMEI
Orange UK
ASIC 6

Thanks in anticipation

Dont want to spam but your phone is hardlocked

Thus advice as before

PS You only have 3 attempts to generate a correct code with the Nokia 6230i

If your phone is fairly new, you could try to get it exchanged!

Hi,

As Subway says Nokia 6230i has only three attempts. It's an easy process to unlock it, it will take about 10 mins and wont cost much. Take it to a local shop or market and they will do it for you.

Whilst your at it get them to update the firmware to the latest (currently 3.70) and also unbrand it.

If your not sure what firmware you have on the phone press *#0000# and it will display the firmware version.

Hope this helps

Adam
