Hello all, great board!

I have a nokia 6010 on cingular pay as you go in the USA to be exact.
The soft version is = V 8.62 01-09-04 NPM-10

The settings in the nokiafree calc I used:

1 = Nokia
2 = DCT4(Expert Only)
3 = (my IMEI)
4 = U.S.A.
5 = Cingular - Pacific Bell Wireless
6 = MCC+MNC = 31017000
7 = Asic 2
8 = V2
9 = 33820

I input code 1 from the NokiaFree calc, with the Cingular sim out and recieved:
"Phone restrictions off" which I thought was good.

I then tried 2 different SIMS that are known to be good.
From two active nokia 1100b's
One from Tracfone, and the other from Net10 (both prepaid also)
and I recieved "SIM card rejected" message???

btw: cingular SIM still works.

Any help would be appreciated and thanx in advance...

Try entering codes 5 and 7 from the same set you got the first. Probably, Cingular used more than one simlock. Code +5 should get it unlocked, and theory says that code +7 unlocks all locks, so enter code 5 and then 7, and try the SIMs again.

Post results please.

Thanx for the quick response Edge

I tried both 5 and 7 and recieved "phone was not restricted" both times
and the SIMS still come up "Sim card rejected" ???

I'm kinda puzzled here :confused:

btw, does the 5 code rule only apply to wrongs codes entered or
to total codes used on the phone?

Any other help would be appreciated.

Applies only to wrong codes.

Now... what's happening is very strange. Code 7 should have completely unlocked your phone. Let's try something... compare both SIMs, the rejected and the working one, and check if there are differences in their capacities, meaning, if the working one is a 32k or 64k java SIM, and what's the rejected one.

It could happen -but it would be strange- that the phone is rejecting the SIM for incompatibility/recognizing problems. Happened to me on a 1100 that came with a 32K sim. Even if it was correctly unlocked -it worked with other 32k sims- it rejected 64k sims. The problem is that usually, when this happens, phones display "Invalid SIM", and not "SIM Rejected".

It's the only possibility that comes to my mind far from a faulty firmware, which is a possibility.

That would be wicked if you could use a tracfone/net 10 SIM in any compatable SIM, then you would bypass the airtime tank and make loads of free calls

Unfortunately I think they wised upto that one!

PS You managed to unlock a phone with v2 codes? I thought they were blacklisted?

apparently not, i bought a t-mobile 6010 today at wal-mart, they tried to get me to activate it there sayin it needed a special number, blah! either way, i used those settings up top n code #1 and it unlocked like a charm

Strange... I tried on some phones with firmware nov 04, apr 05, nov 05 and they all rejected V2. Very rare for the nov 04 example... but they were unlocked correctly with 32779.

well, my firmware revision reads (*#0000#):

V 8.62
01-09-04
NPM-10
(c) NMP.

so it might be old stock

Now it makes sense... thanks for posting the firmware date!

Sorry for the long delay guyz..

Interesting info though, sooo sims for net10 & tracfone will not work on unlocked non- net10 & tracfone phones but, I wonder if other providers sims will work in unlocked net10 & tracfone phones? Sure would like to try it for the heck of it to see if it works and post results here to build up the database of info :)

Need a little help though for the test, please help me fill in the blanks for the test:

I have a:
nokia 1100b on Net10 V 6.09 01-26-05 RH-36 &
nokia 1100b on Tracfone V 6.05 09-20-04 RH-36

The settings in the nokiafree calc:

1 = Nokia
2 = DCT4(Expert Only)
3 = (my IMEI)
4 = U.S.A.
5 = ?
6 = MCC+MNC = ?
7 = ?
8 = ?
9 = ?

btw: I was successful with the 1st set of unlock numbers on the 6010 but, should I have used the 7th set at first for complete unlock cuz I read in one of the post that 7th should be used for full unlock?

And thanx for the replys guyz :)

The MCC+MNC for net10 and tracfone is 31099901 use GEN 32779

Issue is when you unlock it you need to remove the airtime tank, when you do that by flashing the phone you trash your tracfone/net10 service as the sims are locked to each individual handset
