help needed please i have i nokia 6630 which i fitted a new orange sim card and now it says that iam offline and there is a cross through the signal meter any idears please.

it means that you'r phone does not support the orange network it needs to be unlocked and as it's a bb5 handset only the network provider it is locked to can unlock it for you

right but its an orange phone just that my mate kept the sim it came with????????

If the phone was locked to Orange and your new sim card is Orange as well then I would suggest three things:

1. The phone has a sim card reader fault.

2. The phone has been barred (more likely)

3. It needs a software flash

Are you sure the last owner hasn't not paid the contract or reported lost/stolen to claim on the insurance?
