Info on cingular Us unlock. I bought my 6682 may,4 2006 2 yr contract
I claimed I travel abroad and I needed it unlocked for prepaid sim cards when I'm in other countries.

Cingular rep claims that they must request code from nokia in order to unlock bb5 phones. In order to get subsity code you must keep bill update with no late balance. Takes 5 business days for cinuglar to recieve it from nokia then you'll get it and its free!!

I asked if the code will unlock everything including wap, I recieved no straight answer, and was told that my settings may not work on other networks.

Moderators please pm me and I will be happy to help you with whatever I can.

When and if Cingular provide the unlock code for your phone, the wap/gprs can be altered by downloading the settings via a smart message, some networks have a padlock symbol attached to the message which means that it cant be deleted

PS A thread has been made specifically for submitting working BB5 unlock codes

hmm it is posible for the provideres to bay a so caled variant that, specialy for the simbian platform, is total locked in wap/gprs settings. I don't know how many provideres that has bourgt this feature, but it is there.
There is not a unlock code for this feature, only a flash.

Still it is not posible that anyone outside nokia and the registered providers to calculate the simlock unlockcodes for the bb5 phones.

The subsity code they emailed me did not work. I tried a t-mobile sim and it did not work. I'm emailing cingular to try to get a code that works, but I imagine that it will be some time before I hear anything back from cingular.

If you read the post you will answer your question

Headsets generally do not contain sim restrictions as they are an accessory
