6680 charging problem

i bought a 6680 locked on orange, contacted orange and bought a code to unlock the phone fine,
since unlocking the phone now on t-mobile i plug the charger into the phone to start charging the phone switched on, i can go back 3-4 hours later it does not seem to be charging the battery, but if i switch the phone off then charge no problems, has any one come across this before.
is it software problem or is it fault of the phone since unlocking.
the phone works great other wise

since i had the phone unlocked from orange i changed to t-mobile the problem being i forgot to delete some of the orange software off the phone, i checked in to connection managment and found that orange music was trying to connect every few seconds. i managed to delete it off the phone, recharged the battery and i now get 4 to 5 days off one charge

My girlfriend has one and its very tempramental when charging. I dont know if its been unlocked or not because she got it from a friend but the phone freezes a lot too. Worst phone Ive seen for freezing yet.
