Here is FLSEdit v0.2a PreRelease. Availible at this Version is Language Dialog, Bitmap Dialog (but without Netbars, will follow in v0.3), Checksums and PPM Chunk Export/Import.

yes, it is fairly slow.... but this will improve in further versions, but even if it don't, who cares?

how about an option to insert a slide show - like g3n0lite - but an option 2 choose how the slide changes.... that would b quality.

(will any software like this have 62xx language support?)

Too bad this file is compiled from VB5. As far as i remember, VB has weakness at byte seeking in file. especially when the file size is big (2MB or more). That's why the speed is really really slow. Speed can be fastened if the file is coded in VC (You'll gain reduced file size in addition).

Please no offence taken. I talked about the sw, not the person. I just wanna say it would be great if this file was coded in VC. Though, I already have the VC++ version without spending 20€.

Hello to all..
I tried to edit the menu bitmap in flsedit.. Then i update the crc using ppm manager... When i enter in the menu. It will reboot.
I tried to edit just only one bitmap.. UPdate crc Then flash it to phone. It will again reboot...

Any solutions for this?

This software is developed under Windows XP.

What type of computer do you have and how long did you wait after loading flash. Remember this tool type some time.

And please post the Flashfile which you used. maybe there is bug with an flashfiles.

How do you read the flash file its not with the standard vb open as #1 thingy is it?

Coz if it is you will be able to improve the speed using the windows api's.

@mrbig4545: Using the API wouldn't sped up the program. The fls is read one time in the prog and then the complete file which takes only 0,00001 sec. The Problem is the Checksum calculation. It is a bunch of loops to calc ALL Checksums. You could speed this prog up if you use Flashfiles with DEAD MCU and DEAD FA1D check. Then the Checksums wouldn't be calced except the PPM Checksums.

btw: Don't say something bad about NokDoc, my friend. I don't like that.

@All: Net/batt bar is implemented, now i just need to save the edited animations. Next version maybe this evening or never.

If thats how you feel bout the api's fine then, don't use them, your choice.

But i can't believe you calc checksums when opening files, because that would be completly pointless, because on my 1.33ghz pc it takes ~5 seconds to open a 1.81mb flash, so id blame the vb open function.

And hasn't it ever occured to you that vb loops are real slow, an that you would get a real performance boost if you coded a .dll or exe in c/c++ to do the checksum calcs?

I wasn't insulting your programming ability, just the vb open file function.

And about NokDoc, i didn't say anything bad, i just said what he said was uncalled for.

reading the file into a string takes only 0,00001 sec, believe me.

the the 5 secs are used by the functions which calc the checksums (MCU,PPM,FlashCheck)

I'm using AMD Athlon 1Gz with 1024RAM, i think when loading flash file it only take less then 1 sec..

And about the new version 0.3, every flash file i load just return an error message which i don't know what its mean, since it's not in english.

I'm using dejan format original flash file which download by rolis, and i already try only mcu or ppm, and also mcu+ppm and full flash too.

Please i really need to try this software, thanks you.

could U explain me why if I open FLSEdit 0.3 and open flash file and want edit bitmaps, then after click button Bitmap or Animations I have alert that I have't file COMCT232.OCX. I have this file in Windows\system and Windows\system32 and in catalog where I have this program but still I have this message and after that program is shutting down. Whoat I do wrong? maybe it's wrong ver of file [some error?] but I downloaded it 3 times and still nothing. maybe I have wrong ver of COMCT232.OCX? coul U send me good ver of COMCT232.OCX [that what U r using]. Please help...

tried MaxFileSize=65536 in system.ini, still flsedit won't like it.

edit: maybe it should be more.. if system.ini wants in kilobytes while i use megabytes..

Lol, this error is caused when your filename has moren then 260 signs. Just rename the file for something shorter until FLSEdit v0.4 is released.

how you count characters if filename is 5510_0353_MOD_invertdisplay.fls ?
how there can be 260 characters?

Been playing with FLSEdit a lot today and have never managed to get any flash which I have edited the bitmap on to flash to phone without CONTACT SERVICE.
Is this meant to be like this, for the released version, or is it sort of bug?
Using 8850 v5.27 flash.

v0.2a at first, but I think v0.3 does the same, although I can't remember now.:( lol

Btw, On the animation bit, I get one frame from one menu, and the others from the correct menu in correct order.... will mail you flash to check what I mean if you wish.

Never use v0.2a to edit Bitmaps, will end in a freeze of your mobile. The Animationsthing is very crappy programmed by Nokia but I will check it.
