Nokia 8310s with problems!

Hi firstly i have a nokia 8310 which i bought off ebay. Have had it deliverefd today and it is barred off orange and 02 which i was not aware of. Vodaphone works. Is there anyway of getting it to work on orange if not does anyone want to buy it?

Secondly have an 8310 damaged, physically. Not too badly but wont accept a sim, just says insert sim.

Of course... just search around about 'unlocking' and you will find everything!
For the damaged one open it and tell what is actually damaged..

Hi, thanks for that. Could you tell me what software/leads i need to do this?

I have opened the second one up looks to be no damage. I put the board into the other phones shell but still the annoying message 'insert sim'

To unlock, you need:
1 MBUS cable
NokiaTool 1.8 by Rolis.

For the other one, have you checked sim contacts? otherwise could be a problem with cobba ic.

Hi, i think thde first phone is already unlocked as it will accept all sims. Is says sim card registration failed when i put an orange/o2 card in but works on voda. is there anyway i can get it to work on orange as i have an orange sim i use.

The second phone the sims work in the other 8310 so maybe it is as you say. Is the cobba ic an easy fix?

Never did it myself. Have a look at the hardware repair section.
I can't really tell you more for your SIM problem... sorry:(

first according to the simcard registeration faild here in lebanon we have no black listing and i faced that problem 5 times till now with 8310 and i had sollve that by downgrading the phone from 5.557 version to a 5.06 one !!! it worked 100 %

second about the insert sim message try to check ur sim maybe it is an old sim also here in lebanon we face that always and we change the sim from the line suppliers and we get sim2+ and it work fine ...if not try to check the sim connector on the phone board..also if didn't work ...now u will have to shift to the serious side !!! just take the board from the cover and have the internal board alone ...on the right side of the battery connectors u will see a golden sqaure ic it is so small try to heat it by a hot air station ....this will work 40 % and 60% u need to change it !
