PsiLoc+ Space Doubler

anyone tried this? Just read this on AAS and its sounds wicked :D

A really great program!
Still a little bit buggy though. Some of the compressed apps get their icon (on the top left of the screen) garbled, and for some strange reason the compression of the Hantro video app sometimes doesn't work...

I am testing for one hour now and the only thing that absolutely doesn't seem to work correctly is compressing the Hantro app...
I have also tried to uninstall SpaceDoubler, which works without problems - so you can safely try the app yourself!

One more thing I have noticed:
SpaceDoubler does not compress as good as SmartCompress. Programs compressed by SmartCompress are 10%-30% smaller than if they were compressed by SpaceDoubler.

So my opinion is:
SpaceDoubler is much more comfortable to use although it is still has got some bugs.
SmartCompress has got the better compression.

At the moment I am using both programs. I have compressed all my games with SpaceDoubler; the progs I use only infrequent are compressed by SmartCompress.

btw.: You can even use SpaceDoubler to compress SmartCompress, which saves 42KB of space ;-)

A new version (0.96 Beta) is out, which solves that problem. Just uncompress then recompress all your apps, and the icons will all be alright again.

btw: Why are there only so few comments on this app? It is perhaps THE BEST APP EVER for the 7650!

I just tried it and it's awesome :)

Space doubler v0.96B only uses 37kb
Automatically unpack when I selected a packed app

Don't see any problem so far. Wasn't able to test the earlier release

If you have not installed any other app by PsiLOC+ already, some libraries are also installed:
PsiNT eLib - 45 kb
PsiNT Helper - 6 kb
Alltogether this sums up to 88kb, which makes it even bigger than SmartCompress...

When I mentioned 37KB I meant it for Space doubler app. But yeah! users who haven't install any PsiLOC apps will see another 46+4kbs (or 6 whatever)

Since I have installed other PsiLOC's apps, I don't count the space used by helper and elib anymore. when I installed Space doubler.

Over here elib used 45kb :( while Helper only 4kb (huh! yours is 6kb? anyway, that only 2kb difference- no big deal)

Yes, my Helper is really 6kb... Perhaps PsiLOC has released a new version ?!

No..not new version.

Found out now why it's 4kb here and yours is 6kb :)

I forgot that World clock pro is "archived" using Smart Compress. I restored it. Helper is now 6kb :(

I Don't need this helper and elib ... I wonder if any of PsiLOC apps will not work if I removed elib and helper ?.. :D ... i'll give it a try ;) anyway, i'm planning to do a hard reset :D

There is a Complete Language File and a English only File just like the SeleQ!!!

it is a great program, works perfectly now too and saves shed loads of memory, a must have app for all 7650 owners

If SDoubler expires, you can still uncompress the apps to use/uninstall.

If Sdoubler expires, you cannot compress apps. Only allow to uncompress.

DO NOT DELETE eLib or Helper. I have not try yet. Seems to me that eLib is important file.

Funny!!!! after installing it (v.097b), I use it---- no problem in packing and unpacking

I changed the date to Nov 30 2004 - still can use.. pack and unpack. Strange version :confused:

that's true.. its really weird you know. coz i tried this..

i used year 2050 then run the program, it worked
i used year 2049 then run the program, it worked
i used year 2048 then run the program, it worked
i used year 2047 then run the program, it worked
i used year 2046 then run the program, it worked
until i reached 2030. it still worked.

cool. bit should expire by then if it should expire in 15 days. that's great. maybe they forgot to put expiry on it! :)

hey guys i changed the date and it doesn't expire too. when i check to register the user name is ESD just like the extended suite 's taskman. maybe that's why it doesn't expire
