editting fls files with ppmmanag. Are the arabic characters in the textchunk unicode?

I was using for several days the the ppmedit and ppmmanager software to edit and analyse the flash files in a 3310. both great programmes, thanx mates. I downloaded a flash from a 3310 with arabic language. If i see the arabic range for the textchunk in arabic all the characters are written in hex codes \x06A or something. I dont know how these codes are defined, wether is it just the unicode encoding or something else. Can anybody please explain me as I am a newbie. Any help is highly appreciated.
