8310 Calendar problem

I have a problem with the calendar in my 8310. I make a note (Meeting) and set the alarm on for it (At event time). When it is time for the alarm to go off, nothing happens. At the end of the day (midnight), the alarm goes off for the meeting, usually hours after I wanted it.
According to what is displayed, the time and date are correctly set on the phone.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Can anyone tell me if there is a phone setting related to this or is it likely to need a software update to fix?
