Help flashing A300

Hi can anyone help me iam trying to flash a A300 with ust 4.6 i am using windows xp and a data cable all i am getting is phone not found this is on both com ports i have experimented with com port settings to no avail if i am likely to be using wrom cable can someone point me in the direction where i can find right one any help on this greatfully received.

do you have an a300 cable then? a t100 cable can be modified for the a300 but will not work unmodified

Its a a300 cable i believe i bought it as one it has a sticker on it saying a300/a388
