Ngage Noob Questions ( juz bought an Ngage)

i would like some help from all u pro guyz here :grin: ,i juz got a ngage (just now),and got some stuff 2 clear out wid u guyz....

1)Had Bluetooth Problem (solved by using the Search Command ) :-D

2)I have 128MB pretec card,and i would like to store almost all my stuff into it,as i've heard the using up the fone memory leads to too many problems- so juz lemme knw -

(i) How to (IF i can) save my contacts on the MMC
(ii)How to save my messages on the MMC.


3)the latest firmware version is i think V4.03( I have V3.30),do u think i need 2 upgrade ? coz the lady at the shop from where i bought told me there wuz'nt a big diff in the features ,so wht do u guyz say,Should I upgrade ??( ofcourse u guyz knw better! :-P )

hmmm, there's no problem with stuffing ur memory card with lots o' stuff... :)

contacts can't be saved in the mmc.

to save message in mmc, u need to download software in mirc, named something like mmcstore.. :)

but f iwer u, don't do it... i tried saving messages to my mmc, well... it causes lots of problems.. hehe

ohh.....thts sad tht i cant save the contacts on my mmc :-( ......i should thank god tht i don have some 1000 contacts :razz: ,so tht should keep my fone memory safe,will try out tht software u told for storing the msgs 2 the mmc tho,and thanx for the reply :-)

If your contacts become too big use a program called Stacker to compress them, it can more than half the size.

Don't use the program that changes your message box to mmc, it stops you from receiving sms's if you are listening to mp3's and is blamed for a lot of other bugs too.

I wouldn't bother upgrading your firmware unless you have another reason to visit a NSC, I don't think there are any different features, just minor bug fixes.

hmm....thts bad......i wuz really wondering tht the latest firmware will allow for saving messages to the mmc coz i recieve a lot of messages,and especially it would be a good option whn u recieve files from ur buddy's fones which are really big 2 fit into the fone memory. :(

but its kinda weird,coz the 3650 which wuz released b4 ngage had the option.

well, ngage was designed with the thought that the user will change their MMC cards veri often, for example game cards. therefore if the option for saving messages to MMC is set while a game card is inside. then there will be trouble as the gamecard MMC is write protected.

whatsmore notice with MP3s are being played, the MMC cannot be accessed by the user anymore. programs cannot use the MMC. which means, what happens if the an SMS comes? the message cant be saved.

so i guess its a blessing i guess.. or there be trouble :D
