NEC Unlock help!

I bought the NEC modified cable and unlock software and did'nt read the instructions that carefully.
I had to remove the battery before connecting the phone to the usb cable and the computer, which I, sadly did not do. Although i did not install anything i just plugged it in then removed it. I late read somewhere that if you connect the phone with the battery then you can risk "Install drivers error", which I now get :(.
Could someone please help me out.
