unlocking a 6230i please help

hi i have another 6230i that one of my mates has asked me to unlock for him as i was sucessfull in doing mine.
it is on pay as you go on o2 uk and i have used the nokiafree calc to generate the 7 #pw+ codes with asic 6 and one i have entered code +1# with the original sim card in and it said code error.
i know i only have 3 attemps so thats why im posting now.
i have also tried to put a different network card in as advised on some other posts but i cant enter a code as a stop sign comes up and it just says sim card not accepted and when you press undo it asks for a network restriction code but when i enter the #pw code i generated it says can not undo restriction can anybody please help or advise as i only have one try left thanks daz
