problem with earphone jack

Hi everyone.
Some dumbass tried to plug a non-nokia charger which fit into my 3650's earphone jack. Now, the phone thinks that it has earphones plugged in all the time. Earphones work fine. What could have happened? Can it be fixed? If it cannot be fixed, is there at least a way in which the whole 'accessory' mode can be switched off?
I appreciate any help anyone has.

It started working again, on its own.

Ok, so the problem with the earphones got fixed without me doing anything. However, now the menu doesn't show up. It beeps, so it recognizes it's a button. But nothing happens. Help!
