Help flashing 5110 pls

Hi,

I have one 5110 to repair - when I power on nothing happens - phone seems 2 be death. I tried to flash it with Rolis 4.77 - I choose 5110 from the list and write flash (5.30). After I switch on the phone, Rolis shows "Bad phone type" but still working. After 30 seconds it shows "Flash erasing error - Must receive 91 00 FF but received FF FF FF"

Any ideas ?

Try this steps:

1 Download Rolis 4.78
2 Set parameters(5110)
3 Power off the phone(remove battery)
4 Put battery back
5 Connect flasher cable
6 Then do the flashing

This is what i did when i receive the same problem and it works with me.

I am having the same problem with my 5110, but I have tried what you've said and it hasn't worked!
Have you got any more Ideas???

Check your flash cable and contacts and make sure the battery is full or at least two bars. or you can try flashing the phone and when ask to turn on phone shorly just plug your charger... hope that works.
post some history how it bedame dead

Ive sorted it now!
I downloaded dejan flasher insted of Rolis flasher and it worked first time!!!

For me I'm using both Dejan and Rolis

I flashed my 5110 with version 5.29 and it worked fine!
I reflashed the same phone with a modified version of the original flash and the phone displayed contact service!
I updated faid etc. and it didn't go!
I reflashed the phone with the original version of 5.29 and the phone just 'died'!
have you got any ideas to repair this??

Modify original flash file ---- use Nokia flasher by Rolis and check for CHK errors, if MCU SW CHK test has failed, correct it and save to a new file.

Using Dejan, delete or rename your existing MCU and PPM files(nk_files directory) so that when you use F3 your full flash file will be added to the new list of versions. This will solve contact service using Dejan flasher.

Try to flash it again because software can solve dead fones- it wasnt a hardware failure.

I reflashedthe phone and it worked straight away!!

What version of dejan flasher have you got, mine only has F1 and F2 functions no F3!!
If you have got a later version than me could you attatch it please!!

I dont know if this will work for you but i do have two flasher cables, one for dejan and the other for Nokia flasher, knok and some other flasher softs. the one i used for dejan has a label DEJAN104 and it doesnt work on Rolis flasher.
You do have to create directories for it to work.
c:\flasher (105.com, etc)
c:\nk_files (MCU and PPM files)

I think this is more complicated...
