Picture message extension *.ota, what about ringtone

If you want to send picture message to 7650 you rename it to *.ota what about if you want to send a ringtone?

.wav and .mid are the most common. I think old style ringtones can be used in the .rng format but i'm not too sure.

So... how can I transform *.mid or *.wav to *.rng???

You cant really, you need a converter and patience. Mp3 and .wav formats are real live songs or music. .mid format (polyphonic) is several instruments being played at once to sound like the original tune, (there fore there is no voice usually because it is a mixture of instruments) .mid format is commonly used in karaoke as backup music for the singer. .rng format is monophonic meaning single instrument tunes, like the older nokia phones eg 8250 thats all they support. There are converters out there which convert .wav or mp3 files to .mid format by taking all the instruments out of the track and changing the format of the song to .mid format.

If you have a 7650 and you put together a tune with composer you will notice that it saves your tune as .rng format. If you would like to send .mid tunes to a 7650 i recomend that you use Ringtone Studio.

    hope this helps ya undastand

I am talking about monophonic ringtones like these that old nokia use. But I want to know how to convert rttl, rtx or even mid monophonic ringtones to rng. You can't just rename them to rng and work.

Maybe logomanager would work, but the big question is why would you want mono tones? They suck!

They sure SUCK!!! But i want to learn how to convert this to rng for compatibility with older mobiles.

Logomanager is what you need then, look at the yahoo groups for older phones for a cracked version.

I have logomanager. But you can't save ringtone as *.rng playable for 7650

Neither you can. Get a program called Ringmaster (sounds like gay porn but it isnt) it can save as .rng.
