???software update under XP with flash cable

Cabel or just me!!!. I bought an DEJAN BOX DCT3 to upgrade my 3310 software from vers. 05.03 to 05.57 and make it run as 3315, i have read the guides both here and other places, but for now without any luck to backup the phone.

Im using ROLIS V. 478b6, and its set to run in win98, i also have set LPT1 to run in ECP/EPP from bios. im using USERPORT and set the range to 378 - 37B and only this addres. In the bios the LPT1 is set to 378/irq7. If i look under LPT1 preferences in xp it says I/O from 0378 - 037F and 0778 - 077B.. and LPT1 is set to use any interrupt under LPT1.

I also have an Mbus cable and that is working fine at the moment under xp..

What i dont get is, when i start up ROLINS and pick the right phone, press READ " for backup", it types power on phone, i turn on the recharger. NOW nothing happens. no bar or something like that. i have waited for 10 min. and nothing is going down.. how long does it take. i can see my processor is running at 100 % so the comp. does something...

I have tried the same under win 98 and the same happent to mee. But there was something of my interest under win 98 i tried a prigram called DEJAN flasher 1.04 and with this program i couldt read the phone info with the flash cable. now to make an backup i needet to run another program called DEJAN flasher 1.00b but now i couldt read anything. it typet the same error with different LPT1/BIOS settings: TX=1

Is it the cable???
or have i missed out something ???

I'm not too familiar with the box you have purchased, but my understanding is that there is two types! Dejan 1.0 and 1.05! If you have v1.05, then you need to use WinDLS rather then Rolis for flashing! Where did you buy the cable\box? In the mean time... what LPT port is set in Rolis settings? Change it to the other one and see if you get any positive results, as mine runs on LPT2! Also you say that you "turn on the recharger" do mean it's already connected? Have it already powered on, but not plugged into the phone! When it asks to power on, then connect the powered charger into the phone!

Mann u set me on work, with that post.... but it paid off in the end.
1st. i bought the cabel in denmark, but its the light dejan cable type.., not the box type.

2nd. thx about the recharge thing. it worked.

I got WINDLS 4.1 but didn't understand anything.. about making an backup first, so on to seaching the net for a few hours, FOUND a guide. I still dont now how to make a backup. " but as they say real men don't backup they just CRY" i downloadet v.5.87.exe and flashed the phone.. " i could here my heart go BOOM - BOOM " it worked fine... 1st error did not FAID the phone..and checked for sp lock.. so it froze and froze. so i started up different programs and got around that problem too. problem solved.. on to 3310 - 3315.. first i could not get it running.. so i turnt to the USERPORT program and started it up with standart settings.. and BAMM!!!!!!!!!

I was DONE with my updated phone... it has run for 30 min. now and now errors.. hoping it will stay that way. LOL

I'm assuming that you did use WinDLS!? Glad you got it sorted! I don't really know much about WinDLS! I have the other cable, but I have used it once or twice! Any other problems, don't hesitate to ask!
