8290 to run on GSM900/1800???

my friend handed me an 8290 (GSM900/1900) hoping that he can use it under the GSM 900/1800.

Can you advise me if this is possible and how will i be able to do it.

The 8290 is a 1900mhz phone only... but either way

When a phone is designed for a certain frequency band a mere
swap of software will NOT change that..

So whether it be a 8890 which is 900/1900mhz or a 8290 which is 1900mhz only or 5110 which is 900mhz only those are the ONLY frequencies they will operate on..

Like we have said before, do you think if a 6110 could be flashed to a 6150 or a 8290 could become a 8210, or a 6210 could be be a 6310i w/a flash that NOKIA themselves wouldnt do so??

So if it was a 8290 he had find a 8210 to do the job.. If it was a 8890 pick up an 8850.
