need to format my 6600 as i've messed up a couple of things but in order for me to reinstall the programmes i need seleq or another file manager via wap but i am unable to using the symbian page, anywhere else i can get a file manager.. i don't use blootooth ot infra red only a card reader

format ur mmc 1st, den send a fexplorer or seleq to ur fone, install it on mmc, den format ur fone mem. formatting ur fone wun delete anything on ur mmc, so u can still use seleq or fexplorer.

sorry maybe i didn't explain very well, I only have a card reader so the only way for me to send the programme SELEQ is via wap, I cant use the card reader as unless I have the file explorer already on the phone i wont be able to detect what is on the MMC. thanx but it doesn't matter now as i have decided not to format the phone, just messed about with some of the backups that i had on the pc and everything seems ok

This all started because after using the mmc in the 3650 then passing it to the 6600 I am unable to do backups using the phone as you cant use a back up from a different phone model

I understand exactly your problem. You don't have bluetooth or IR, so have no means of getting the file manager to your phone.

As far as I remember this is what you do:

1.) Place the file manager installation file that you want in any folder on your memory card. I usually choose images for this.(you'll see why).

2.) Go to messaging and choose to compose a new email.

3.) In the email message options menu, choose "insert" and then "image".

4.) Browse to the images folder on your memory card, and highlight the installation file (it will appear as a broken tri-coloured rectangle thingy.)

5.)Insert the the file as an attachment and then go to options again. This time choose "attachments" or whatever lets you view the attachments.

6.)Highlight the file manager installation file in the list of attachments in your message and open it. The phone will recognise it as a program and the instllation will start.

off most yahoo groups and my website, when I upload it. I was meant to upload it today but I had to go off and install broadband for sister in work.Then I had to go off and smoke dope with my friend. And download the latest episode of 24, which makes my computer shit slow for uploading.

So hopefully (fingers crossed), I'll get a basic site up tomorrow, but I won't be uploading files untill I'm free again, which will be either sunday or tuesday.

For the moment, try Tzeonn's or Yuppo's group.
