6600 Unlocked, but no signal now

Hi,

I hope someone can help me out here, I brought a 6600 off ebay which I purchased as unlocked (was locked to Orange) but when I put my O2 sim in I dont get a signal and can't access Wap. I tried my dads Orange card in it and it worked fine.

Can someone advise how I can get my 6600 to work with my O2 card.

I had similar problems with mine. Orange mod the flashes of their phones to add all the orange shit in, so you need to either manually delete all the extra shit using file explorer or somthing, or goto your nokia centre and get them to flash it with a clean flash. My 6600 wouldn;t accept a clean flash, although I suspect this problem was more the incompetence of the technician. Its a bit of a pain in the arse to fix, but it is possible.

sounds more like the phone is Blocked (reported stolen or lost (people sell them on ebay then report them lost ) ) which is why you get no signal...it takes longer for some networks to block than others..I bet you find they all stop in the end.

nothing you can do about it if it is apart from report it to paypal and ebay and hope that there is still money in his Paypal account for a charge back !!

Had the same thing.

Go to O2 (O2 active) web site. They have the settings and will send it to you in a text which you save and then you can choose if you want to select o2 or orange wap.

Does it come up with 'o2' on the front of phone when you put in sim card? Sim restrictions?

Maybe that you are just in a bad area for o2 signal! Or not fully unlocked. Orange lock 1 and 5 on that phone dont they? I think that's what I had to unlock.

Though I do keep getting 'select connection' option up every 5 mins. I want to keep o2 and orange. Do I have to do hard format and start again?
