Just rename the .zip to .jar then install as usual
how do you change file extentions then?
Do it on your computer before adding it to phone (right click on file and goto rename)
Hope this helps
Best thing is to rename the file extension on all zip files to *.jar before you send it to your phone. Once in your phone's inbox just select it and it will install... No need for zipman on your phone either....lol
Cheers
how do you change the file extention on windows 98 the method you describe only works on xp
if you can not see the .zip bit on the end you will need to do this
open my computer
click up the top, tools
click folder options
click view
un check the box which says 'hide file extensions for known types of files'
done
to change them to a .jar simply click on the file. can you see the .zip bit on the end of the file? simply right click on the name, and wright over .zip with .jar and yoru done
when i rename the file from *.zip to *.jar and send it to my phone (n3650) it tells me that the file is damaged, am i doing anything wrong? please help me!
maybe its a dodgy file u got there
well i thought so.. bu it ain't i tried with fx the full version of cameraFX from shizo's site (i think)... and with mp3go, none worked! i just gotta rename the files last name from zip to jar right? why can't i understand dat??
HOLD UP A SEC!!
Changing the file extension from zip to jar will only work if the program is in fact a JAVA program. Most JAVA programs are games. If in doubt, try to open the zip archive and examine the contents.
- If there are a whole heap of small files in there with weird extensions chances are it's a jar file, so rename to .jar and send to phone.
- If there are .sis files in the archive, it is a native symbian program, so do the following:
CameraFX and mp3go are definitely NOT java. What you need to do is extract the zip archive on your computer, and either
1) send the .sis files to your phone and open them from the inbox (should auto-install).
or
2) double click the .sis file on your computer - if pc-suite is set up correctly (and your phone connected with IR or BT) the file will send and install on your phone without you having to touch the phone.
